We Celebrate Five Medal Wins at Spirits Selection 2024

September 24, 2024

Fantastic news from the Spirits Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) event held two weeks ago in China. This event is the biggest traveling spirits competition in the world, bringing together top experts to taste and judge spirits from across the globe.

With thousands of entries each year, only the best of the best take home a medal, making it a real honour for any spirit producer. This year saw nearly 2,800 entries from 62 countries. A panel of over 120 international experts, including producers, writers, buyers, and distributors, judged the entries. Each year, in compliance with EU regulations, the jury awards medals only the highest scoring 30% of entries, making this recognition particularly meaningful for our young brand.

The results have been announced, and we are thrilled to share that Brave New Spirits has secured five prestigious medals, including the Gold Award for our 13 years old Linkwood bottling “The Awakening” from our newly launched WhiskyHeroes series. Two more bottles from this range were granted Silver medals: “The Haunting Songs” (12 year old Caol Ila), and “Deep Creatures of the Lake” (10 years old Loch Lomond).

Our Voodoo bottling of “Dancing Cultist 2” (7 year old Blair Athol) has also earned a Silver medal, along with our “Royal Cabinet” 20 Years Old blended Scotch, the latest of several major international accolades received for this whisky over the last year.

This year’s Spirits Selection saw Scotch whiskies performing particularly well, with a record 24 medals awarded across the sector. Medals were distributed across the spectrum, from well-established blended and single malt brands to smaller, independent bottlers like ourselves.

We extend our thanks to the event organizers, judges, and the host country. We’re incredibly humbled by this recognition and grateful to everyone who has supported us along this whisky journey. Congratulations to all the winners!
