Voodoo Returns with Seriously Bewitching Drams: Meet Batch No. 3

As the nights draw in and autumn cloaks the world in shades of red and gold, we welcome the return of Voodoo, our most daring whisky project. Batch No. 3 is here, and it’s perfectly tuned for the dark, rain soaked evenings, the flicker of candlelight, and the season of shadows.
This time, we’ve conjured four exceptional drams, each the result of bold cask experiments and adventurous vattings. It’s not something we’ve often done before, but diving into the art of pairing and layering different casks was an absolute thrill, a creative process of trial, surprise, and discovery that we love so much here at Brave New Spirits. The result is a quartet of whiskies where every vatting brings something fresh and unexpected to the spirit, unlocking new depths of character and flavour. Also, for the first time ever, we’ve crafted a blended grain Scotch whisky, standing proudly alongside three remarkable single malts. Expect flavours that echo the season: juicy plums, baked red apples, almond pastries dusted with cardamom, and the warming embrace of oak.
The Whiskies of Voodoo Batch No. 3
The Smoking Curse
Ardmore Distillery, 8 year old
Vatted from 1st fill Cognac barriques and 2nd fill Laphroaig barrels, this 52.8% ABV powerhouse is alive with dried fruits, oily smoke, and a haunting mineral edge. A whisky with a hex of its own.
Serpent’s Ember
Blair Athol Distillery, 11 years old
A hypnotic vatting of 1st fill Rum casks with 2nd fill Islay hogsheads. At 53.2% ABV, it coils between sweet molasses and smoky whispers, a dram that glows like embers on a stormy night.

Call of Crows
Glen Elgin Distillery, 13 year old
Drawn from 1st fill Ruby and Tawny Port barriques, bottled at 51.7% ABV. Dark fruit compote, autumnal earth, and chocolatey depth come together in a dram that echoes the flutter of black wings across a twilight sky.
Coven of the Red Veil
North British & Cameronbridge Distilleries, 14 year old
A first for Voodoo: a blended grain whisky, brought to life through the marriage of 1st fill St. Emilion Grand Cru wine casks and rich Jerez sherry wood. Bottled at 58.3% ABV, it offers layers of red fruit, toasted nuts, and autumn spice.

A Whisky for the Darker Season
These whiskies aren’t just about taste, they carry a touch of magic too. Their labels glow in the dark, a playful reminder of the nights drawing longer, of gatherings by firelight, of the whisper of Halloween just around the corner.
Voodoo Batch No. 3 is bold, atmospheric, and unapologetically seasonal! Four bottles, each with its own story, waiting to be opened as the world outside turns colder.
