Top Two Spots at Scottish Field's Summer Whisky Challenge 2026

Some very good news landed in our inbox this week. Scottish Field Magazine has revealed the results of their Summer Whisky Challenge, and two of our recent releases didn't just win their category, they took the two top spots across the entire competition.
Cask Masters Tullibardine picked up Gold, and Whisky of Voodoo "Call of Crows" Glen Elgin took Silver — both in the £50–£100 category, and both ranked as the standout whiskies across all the categories judged. That's a result we're genuinely proud of.
About the Scottish Field Summer Whisky Challenge
Scottish Field is one of Scotland's most established and respected lifestyle magazines, with a proud history of celebrating the best of Scottish life — food, drink, countryside and culture. Their annual Summer Whisky Challenge brings together a panel of retailers, producers and whisky writers to blind-taste and score expressions across a range of price points. It's a thorough, credible competition, and one that carries genuine weight in the industry. To win Gold and Silver in the £50–£100 category, and then be told these were the two top drams across the whole competition, that's something really pretty special.
Cask Masters Tullibardine 12 Year Old — Gold Medal
Tullibardine is a Highland distillery that doesn't always get the spotlight it deserves — which is part of why we love working with it. This one is 12 years old, distilled in April 2013 and bottled just last August, matured entirely in a first-fill American Bourbon barrel. Only 180 bottles exist. At 49.1% it's approachable but with real presence — vanilla pod and peach cobbler on the nose, layered with floral honey and a gentle waft of black tea. The palate is rounded and lightly spiced; canned peaches, burnt orange and soft caramel, balanced by a touch of black pepper and toasted oak. The finish is mellow and dry, with a gently spiced fade. Simple, honest, and really rather lovely.

Whisky of Voodoo "Call of Crows" Glen Elgin 13 Year Old — Silver Medal
Glen Elgin is a Speyside distillery that's mostly known for finding its way into blends — which makes it all the more rewarding when you get it as a standalone release. This one is 13 years old, distilled in April 2012 and part of Voodoo Batch No. 3, finished in a vatting of 1st fill Ruby Port Wine and 1st fill Tawny Port Wine casks. Only 692 bottles exist, at 51.7%.
The Port finishing has done something really nice here — ripe plums and winter spices on the nose, cherries and blackberry jam on the palate, and a very long finish with dry smoke and wild flowers. It's a dram that keeps going long after you think it's done.

Big thanks to the team at Scottish Field and to all the judges who gave their time to the competition. And as always, to our whisky community — followers, fans and collectors around the world — your continued support means everything to us. These results are as much yours as they are ours.
