Our Big Wins: Five Master Medals at the Scotch Whisky Masters 2025

We’re proud to share some exceptional results from this year’s Scotch Whisky Masters, held in London and organised by The Spirits Business Magazine— one of the most respected publications in the global drinks industry.
We have entered six whiskies into the competition this year, and we’re delighted to report that all six received top-level recognition — including an incredible five Master medals.
WhiskyHeroes Might Of The Moor (12 year old Auchroisk, 1st fill Oloroso Sherry Barrique) – Master (Speyside Single Cask Category)
WhiskyHeroes Mask Of El Peatón (15 year old (undisclosed distillery),1st fill Old Tequila Barrel) – Master (Highlands & Islands Single Cask Category)
WhiskyHeroes The Unpronounceable (11 year old Staoisha, 1st fill American Bourbon Barrel) – Master (Islay Single Cask Category)
Cask Masters 13 year old Caol Ila (1st fill Chateau Chizay Barrique) – Master (Special Edition Islay Malt Category)
Cask Masters 13 year old North British (2nd fill Sherry Butt) – Gold (Single Grain Single Cask Category)
Royal Cabinet 20 year old - Master (Blended – Aged Between 19 and 30 years Category)
The Master medal is the highest honour awarded in each category and is only given to whiskies that truly stand out for their excellence, character, and complexity. Master medals are only awarded when a whisky truly stands out in its category. To receive five Master medals from four entries is a remarkable result, one we're genuinely proud of, and likely to be among the standout results this year. It’s a meaningful recognition of the work we put into every bottle, from cask selection and maturation to storytelling and presentation.
It was also a pleasure to see some thoughtful words from the judges included in The Spirits Business’ official results article.
Our WhiskyHeroes ‘Mask of El Peatón’, which won in the Highland Single Cask category, was praised for its “well-integrated” use of peat and an ex-Tequila cask, with the agave influence adding a “nice vibrancy to the liquid.”

In the Islay round, ‘The Unpronounceable’ (Staoisha) was described as “moreish and beautifully balanced – heather, seaweed, blossom honey and fresh lemon peel marmalade.”
From our Cask Masters range, the Caol Ila – Special Edition (also awarded a Master) was noted for its “gentle smoke on the nose with some wood and caramel,” and a palate that delivered “a billowing bonfire and a rich sweetness that’s well balanced.”
Meanwhile, in the Blended Scotch category, our Royal Cabinet 20 Years also received a Master medal, with David Carruthers describing it as “rich and robust, well-balanced with lingering sweetness. An excellent blend.”

The competition, judged blind by an expert panel, is part of The Spirits Business’s Global Spirits Masters series. We were honoured to be named Bottler of the Year by the magazine in 2024, and this year’s results are a continuation of that recognition — not only of individual whiskies, but of the broader vision behind Brave New Spirits.
Our awarded whiskies represent both our WhiskyHeroes and Cask Masters ranges. Each bottle in these collections celebrates individuality — whether it's a bold single cask from Speyside, a smoky Islay character, or a creative wine cask finish. These whiskies are about more than flavour alone: they’re about identity, place, and passion.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who makes this possible — our team, our partners, and all of you who believe in brave flavours and bold storytelling.
